How to use the live power outage map
Choose a country and status to narrow the server-rendered list and map signals. Search for a supported city to center the map; select Use my location only if you want the browser to share your current position with this page.
What the outage statuses mean
Reports detected and reports rising describe early community activity. Outage likely and major outage indicate stronger recent report signals. Restoration underway means people are reporting that service is returning. These are calculated community signals, not official utility confirmations.
How community reports are processed
Reports are timestamped, grouped with relevant local incidents and summarized by the PowerStatus status engine. A report may not immediately create a major outage signal because status levels depend on recent activity and independent reporting.
Coverage in the United States, Canada and Australia
PowerStatus currently displays supported city locations across the United States, Canada and Australia. Coverage depends on available city coordinates and community activity, so a quiet map does not prove that every address has service.
Reporting restored power
If service has returned, submit a “Power restored” report for your city. Restoration updates help the local incident signal reflect changing conditions.
Independent from electric utilities
PowerStatus is an independent community information service and does not replace your electricity provider. Use your utility or local authorities for official outage notices, restoration estimates and safety advice.
